The distance from me to you is much further than from you to the airport. May want to consider Groome for the trip to the airport, then someone who lives near your apartment to pick you up from the airport as a birthday present.

You're Zone 4 (I think) for Groome Transportation at $35.75 each way. I'm also Zone 4 and have taken them many times, tax deductible. May want to ask if it could be included in your transportation budget allocation for the next trip.

 

May 29th is a Saturday. If I'm in town (too far ahead to predict) I may be able to make a road trip if you need a ride from the airport to home.

I made some calls to the upper echelon in the command to inquire and show them my flight schedule, and they got a little upset at the travel agency.
1. I was told by the unit admin. I was not going to be reimbursed for parking my car at storage. Come to find out, by the order I will.
2. Another reason I may not be reimbursed is because Richmond is closer.
3. The travel section are stupid, after I told them I need to fly out of Richmond, they say it must be done out of norfolk. Hmmm, looks to me They don't know their job, nor the guidelines.

I got to go in Thursday for a briefing, and finish up the paperwork so I can be paid while in California.

 

Let the travel section people know that you are closer to Ft. Lee than to the shipyard as they are used to arranging travel for only 3 airports in VA: Norfolk, Richmond, and Dulles. They are supposed to direct you to the nearest airport and may have the wrong home address for you? All the Ft. Lee people use Groome Transportation (base to airport) and fly out of Richmond.

 

They thought because I am stationed at Ft Eustis, I fly out of Norfolk, which is the closest airport. However, I am not stationed there on Active Duty, which I tried to tell them. They are supposed to fly you out of the closest airport hub to your home that they deal with which is also Richmond. So now I fly out of Richmond, and saved me some money on my travel too.

 

So u need a ride or no? If u need one tell me dummy! lol....im not that \far form htere (bout an hour or so...) u can come down the night before and leave ur car at my mama's..if u still need to go to norfolk

 

He is flying in and out of RIC now, and still needs a ride each way.

 

Chris said he can drop me off at 6 am on the 30th. I just need a ride from the airport on the 29th of May at 645 pm.
