I can tolerate techno in small doses...it just sucks when the DJ goes to play it and no one stays on the dance floor...then he continues to play it for a 1/2 hour. It does give me break from dancing though and grabbing a drink. LOL

 

Which is the whole point for club owners. If the DJ doesn't play some music that empties the floor for at least a song, they don't make as much money, gotta get the kids off the floor and buying some booze.
The reason nobody stays on the dance floor is because no clubs around here play enough of it to attract the large electronica crowds that would stay on the floor.

 

I would be all over a club that plays "house music all night long" "house music all night long" "house music all night long"

The attitude is usually much better in those types of clubs, booty music brings ghettoness.

 

You are absolutely correct!

Techno makes people want to grab that last drink. Also..they only play the over played techno songs since most people aren't into them that much.

As it gets warmer I think more people will show up. If we can get more people to come out then there will be classes divided and awards given in each. As of right now we are doing top 5 overall.

 

I might go.....just to piss off the import guys...hehe

 

I know the Beach House is jam-packed on Saturday nights, because I've been there a few times on Saturdays. Does it get like that on Friday nights too?

I hope the nice weather brings out more than just a few people. I was hoping to come down on Friday and check out some nice cars, get a few drinks, and hit the club up. Also, I hope they don't play techno all night long. I remember about a year or more ago, the beach house used to play techno a LOT and it would always be empty in there. They started playing more hip-hop, and what do you know... there's usually a LINE to get in on Saturday nights. I was hoping Friday nights were at least sort of like the Saturdays.

 

Friday nights get busy, but not as busy as Saturday nights. There is still room to walk through the club and to dance. They don't play techno all night, mostly hip hop. As for the car show, we need people to support it as it grows. Weather permitting, it can be a great time with fun times at the club afterwards. We are working on getting an outside ABC license and better lighting outside. We are also making some changes to the times and entry fees to generate a bigger turnout. As always, entrance to the show will get you free entrance into the club. I will be posting about these changes soon.
