just make sure you get the right stuff... don't wanna go mixing shit, the new stuff (i guess thats the r134) is the best... if you have the old kind, might wanna think strongly about converting it...

Question, I just took on this little project myself and I've never had a problem with it before but I have a strange situation now.

I got rid of all the old stuff in the system and the pressure guage read 0psi. I hooked everything up and put in 1 can with 15oz....must less than the system should hold.

After emptying one can, the compressor was kicking on and off repeatedly (as said above, a sign of overfilling). I closed the valve and checked the pressure on the guage. It was building to 45psi then shutting off until it dropped to 25psi then kicking back on, then repeating the procedure.

I released pressure until the pressure guage read a steady 44/43psi and the compressor was just running, not kicking on and off.

Here is what confuses me though. When the system was kicking on and off, it was blowing nice cold air.....now that the system is reading as the proper psi and not kicking on and off, the air is no longer cold. Also, how did it go to being over filled with one 15oz can when the system is supposed to hold (I believe) 44oz.

Got any idea? I don't.....
