everything I have read says that the tach is difficult as hell to read. I plan on getting a 636 early this coming winter, so I'll let you know first hand 
Actually, Zappas said I could come check his out tomorrow, so I'll post then. I'll take some pics too. He says that its not that difficult to see, but it does take some getting used to. I think I'll miss analog tachs on kwaks.
EDIT: damn Kawasaki for getting rid of black on the 636 for '04.
