keep in mind that i doubt that any car would get good gas mileage when you're WOT for as long as he was. It only ran out of gas because he was flogging it around the track. Ford's figures are 14mpg city and 21mpg hwy. The GT gets 9mpg city and 17 hwy i think, and the mclaren is worse i believe.
Funny, usually it's the import lovers saying how they prefer their car over a domestic because it's less expensive, can be modded to be faster and gets better mileage.
How ironic.

Usually an import isnt less expensive, and usually it cant be modded to be faster easier. The gas mileage thing I agree with. And usually the only people who use those excuses are people who think civics are as good as corvettes for performance value, not people who think that for instance two closely matched vehicles (say the vette and the supra, or something of that nature).
Either way you look at it, in my eyes, the Ford GT is a better vehicle. Its quicker, faster, cheaper, more reliable (arguably), and performs nearly as well as the cream of the crop of german Supercars, and its hand built american. Of course I'm going to like it. I just hope the "Domestic haters" will look past it being a ford and see that it is a word class supercar.
It's an awesome car to say the least but to say it's the greatest car ever built it pushing it a little. I've said this over and over again but I'll say it again.....there's more to a sports car the numbers it posts. Having never driven one I can't say that it drives better or worse than any Ferrari, Porsche, Lambo., or anything else out there and either can anybody here. That kind of stuff will show it's head soon I'm sure when it gets some more time on the road and more importantly, some more time on the track. It'd be nice to see Ford go after Ferrari again and have a real Supercar battle. Hopefully Ford will start backing this car with some factory race teams.
