Uh, if he was buying an RX8 I'm sure they dealer would work on it since it would be under warranty.

If your planing on buying an rx8, don't settle for a GTI. An rx8 is more of a 'big persons' car, a way of saying that you're out on your own as a successful adult if you will. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking GTIs, they're great cars and I'd kill to have one, but I'd stick with the two door coupes instead of a hatch. More of a 'single, doing well young man' image there if you ask me instead of someone who wants extra grocery space. Yes, I know the GTI has AMAZING potental for tuners, but the average person out there doesn't know that.

The rx8 wouldnt be a bad choice if you want to keep it stock, but if your looking for something to tune it wouldnt be my choice. Congrats on the new car, I went from an 86 mustang to a brand new edge, and like someone said before it's like night and day. You'll be amazed.

You could easily find an E36 M3 for that price that would destroy an RX-8 straight-line and handling-wise.

RX-8s are um.. slow.
You can make them look pretty cool though.
