good shit man
Kudos on the new tranny. Did the same thing in my 03 24v GTI 6 speed. No loud bang or cracking, no noise at all, turned a corner in 2nd, shifted to third and it felt like the shifter wasn't even connected to the cables. Then when I pulled over and shut her down...the only gear I could select was 3rd. Ended up breaking the 5th gear slide in the tranny(defect). Only gear I had was 3rd. Everything was replaced via warranty and after that the tranny shifted better than when I drove it off the lot. Although the mechs at the dealer never torqued down the axle bolts on the drive axle and never torqued the front anti-swaybar down(lost those bolts down the road)and low and behold...the inner axle flange disintegrated and caused some *ahem* major damage. Car was towed back to the dealer, fixed in a week and traded in that Friday. Needless to say, never work with Casey VW, Jeep, mazda, subaru in NN.
