Most of those guys whose motor are still good are running somewhat low to moderated boost. So that not technically good on boost. This is how I see it(you might disagree). The rods on a H22 have a longer distance to travel. This might not take well once pressure is introduced. For example, you have 2 steel pipes. One is shorter that the other. One pipe will take more pressure once force is introduced. The shorter pipe will. Now you can get aftermarket rods and forged pistons to solve that problem, but the motor has to sleeved $$$.
I have seen dyno charts on both H22 and B series motor. They average the same power level with the same psi ,yet the H22 has a bigger displacement.
Now a fully built H22 is the way to go, but would cost way more that a fully built B series motor.

By no way I am knocking down H22 owners. Just discussing info

i agree. for the $.. b series is the way to go.

and ya, h22 rods are known to "egg" passed the 7600 rpm mark. and most h22 damage is due to over reving.

if i were to turbo. i wouldnt go above 7psi daily driving. 9 at the track preiodically. and i WOULD NOT have a turbo w/out a rev limiter and J&S. thats just me though.

in fact. one of the next few things i plan on buying is the msd 6al w/ rev limiter and 2 step.

also just read, the stock rods in the h22/23 are forged. so their fairly strong. just dont wanna over rev it. so you can prolly be ok with just replacing the pistons. but what pistons? couldnt use forged pistons w/out sleeving.

you could use forged pistons without sleeving by coating them. im still looking into the reliability of the coating, but most likely whenever i do go FI im probably going to get some cast iron sleeves.

oh i was just looking at that looks like its takes a supercharger better then a turbo .. Reason asking this is my friend thinks he can put t3/t4 with .68 trim on it i was sorta thinking a 5 psi it wont make any numebrs greater then 300 at fly wit hout having to run a total rebuild. Also 7600 rpm rev is not that high my car had 6100 rpm euro models ran 7200rpm which i thought was wierd.. BUt with rev changecan stand 7800rpm out of 2.3 jsut i guess its iron block it has fairly equal stroke and bore... weird i dont know can u get a stroker kit for h22. Also h22 i thinking of is a 97+

It's weird. I notice that most of the big name drag cars that use H22, like Steph, destroke the motor to a 2.0. Not too sure why that is done.

well bigger the displacement can rev as mcuh to much mass to chagne direction very quick. snaps rod like tooth picks.. look at indy high reving 3 liter v8 or small displacement v10 like ferreri engine...
