no, it's a negligible difference in weight; in fact it's heavier than the 2004 evos. don't know about the 05's since they include ACD, but i believe i've read something like 50 pounds.
the bbs rims are not lighter than volks of the same size... the bbs i believe weigh in at a touch under 20 pounds... like 19.5 or something each.... which is an improvement over the stock 24 pounds or so (reports on that weight vary)... but c'mon, for 17 inch rims? my rims on now are OEM spec for the evo MR FQ's in europe... and they cost a mere fraction of the price of the BBS's, and weigh the same.
not saying the MR isn't a nice car, i just don't think it's worth it. if it were japanese-spec, then hell yes! or like 32.5k... but anyway, it'll sell like hotcakes since there are only like 1000 of them.
off-topic question for you, StreetRacer69:
does your tranny whine when you're deceling in gear between like 3-5k rpm? just leave it in gear and let it cruise? my car's been doing that since i got it, and it seems like 66% of evos do that (of the voters that answered a poll on evom.net)... some say it's normal, some say it's a problem... just wanted to see what a dsm AWD owner thought... thanks

All the evos sound like something is broken during decel. It get's a bit better after a few thousand miles, but will never go away. I'm anxious to see if the six speeds have the same issue.

My DSM does have the same problem and it bothers the hell out of me, 1/2 the time I'll just push in the clutch or throw it into neutral and coast to a stop cause I don't like the noise.
I hope that all of you that talk down on the Evo have actually got to drive one before and not just talking out of your asses, cause the Base model Evo is a drivers car that performs very well, espcially for the money, hanldes better than any mass produced car under $100,000 (minus the new Elise), and it also has 4 doors, it almost seems like it would be hard to improve it from the factory and put a warranty on it, but somehow they keep doing it. The only other improvement I want to see them do is bring a 2 door MR model to the US.

As far as the wing goes, it is quite functional. It plants the car at speeds in excess of 90-100mph. The car doesn't float or try to lift off like some do. The MR looks like a decent offereing, however the price is too much. I agree with what was previously said about buying an RS w/ the urban package and modding from there.
