What would you think if Honda built a "sport" model civic that is more affordable and much better looking then the NEW Civic SI. Features from the factory would include:
Power windows
Keyless entry (no power door locks other than keyless, similar to the s2k)
2 dr coupe
no power mirrors (how often does anyone use em?)
no CD player (were going to put one in anyway)
Factory AC is a must on a new car
no sunroof
hubcaps, not rims (were going to put rims on it anyway)
2.0 liter DOHC iVTEC 180-200 horses
all wheel disk w/ ABS
alittle bit sportier suspension
option for factory lip and rear spoiler
MSRP: $16,000?

I think if they sourced some light weight wheels in 16 or 17" that looked decent people would be happy to pay the little extra. VW uses "aftermarket" wheels (BBS and OZ) all the time and people nearly kill for them.
Also, on the engine/drivetrain, I'd like to see essentially a RSX type S setup (near 200hp with 6spd and LSD). This car could be sold for what they sell the current SI for. Also, use the current SI seats. They are nice IMO.
I voted for the middle option because I wouldn't buy it (it's not a vw and I'm not in the market right now), but I think its a great idea and would sell well.

i would like honda to have engine options from the factory like say a tsx engine for max performance all the way down to the sohc k20 for better fuel economy for all its cars, kinda like how they did back in the day for muscle cars.
the 16k should include a front lsd. that'd be cool. k20a2 would be nice. don't really care about the suspension, as a sporty suspension would still be... i dunno, inadequate? and be replaced anyway.
but i dunno.... i like the ep3. would rather they just brought the CTR over here for 21-22k though.

BRING BACK THE CRX!!!!
and the thing is, you cant downgrade a car because you THINK people want to replace them. Almost everyone buys the same car for different reasons.
