You do relies that oil dissipates heat right? Not as well as coolant mind you, but it does. What do you think oil coolers are for? Not to mention some engine’s are oil cooled and have no water passages, VW anyone...

Size of the oil feed lines/restrictors play a factor in some turbos (too much blows past seals..).

Having a good clean flowing oil return from the turbo is pretty important too.
