u have to love mazda, they are starting to take things over lol. I would love to grab one of those, but I an't afford it.

I dont think they have a turbo in the future, the rotory engines didn;t take too well to forced induction, but the power they are getting from this motor N/A is great and it redlines at like 9000-9500

Mazda is coming back on so many levels, you're right. There's the RX8 coming out, the MazdaSpeed Protege that's out already and the 220hp Mazda6.
There's already talk of a production turbo model of the RX8 from Mazda. There's at least one aftermarket turbo system already developed for the RX8. Rotarys take VERY well to turbo charging. They don't like poor tuning though.

I will have to open my Rotary Bible but for what I recall the old 12B and 13B N/A could not be Turbo because of the cooling ports on the housing where different from the factory Turbo or something like that.

I'm rusted damn Hondas, now I will have to go and dig into the Rotary Bible

There are turbo kits out there for the 12A and 13B 4-port motors. Jaytech and Cartech both made kits and MazdaRacing is still making them.

I always thought that the rotory engines just dont hold up to forced induction, thats what I was always told. They are badass N/A though.

the only problem w/ turboing the RX8 so far is gonna be the fact that it has high compression rotors in it.....and i've yet to find anyone that can verify if the low-comps from a 13Bturbo are compatable. Judging by the port locations and lack of port overlap..it should take VERY well to a turbo.

from what I was reading before, the reason they did not make it turbo is because of the engine not takeing well to forced induction.

I thought they were using the same 9.0:1 compression ratio?

hmm... i thought i read somewhere that they didnt go forced induction... because it wasnt needed(ie almost the same output as a previous turbo version).. not because it couldnt handle it.

i could be wrong.. but i think thats what i read somewhere
