I would def. feel naked on the track.............or anywhere on my sportbike. Unless I was at a bike week or something and just cruising the strip.

But to ride around on country roads at the speed limit on an old standard or cruiser without a helmet is friggin' awesome!

Regardless of what the law says, I will still wear my helmet and jacket. This spring/summer when I attend bike week, I will be wearing a helmet, although I might have to leave the jacket in the hotel so I can flex my muscles while cursing the strip (those who know me will understand the humor).

I do, however, like this new law. It should be the rider’s choice if he/she wants to wear protection. I’m not going to lie, I have rode my bike with out a helmet before but I have also laid a bike down and I believe that the helmet defiantly saved my face and saved me from some major medical bills.

I would only not wear a helmet if I know I won't be going faster than 25MPH, other than that, up here in NOVA, you are playing russian roulette when you're not wearing a helmet.

NOVA or not, the risk is all the same. There are too many key factors that decide whether one goes down or not, and the amount of traffic and poor drivers are only two of those factors. Wind, potholes, gravel, sand, etc.

I too feel naked without a helmet. When i wear it, i almost feel like im in a car, or rather--my HEAD is in a car, and the rest of me is outside chillen. Anyone who doesnt wear a helmet is a fool and just another statistic. Besides, im sure nothing would change a persons mind more than having a rock or bug hit them in the face at any speed over 45mph.

DUDE! Too funny.

I had something pelt me in the face one time; hurt like a bitch too. Put my hand up and drew back............it was covered in blood! For a second there I thought someone had shot me!

But it was just a huge bug that pelted me in the face! Ahhhhh........memories.

.............................I still rode without a helmet after that though.

My view on this is to let grown-ups be able to make their own decisions which affect their own lives. I would like to see this law pass even tho I will still choose to wear my helmet and leathers everytime I ride.
