I still say you should have painted the hood solid, but then again I guess that kinda defeats the purpose of the CF hood. It still looks sharp, I'd drive it.

Sorry man, but not really feeling it. I think the g35's look best with the factory lip kit. And the main purpose of a CF hood is not the look. It is the weight reduction. So painting the whole hood would not defeat the purpose.

When you drive a luxury car with full interior you are honestly telling me that you are concerned about weight? You'll save just as much by switching to a motorcycle battery but you don't see everyone doing that eh?

It's just like a spoiler. Sure it can be "functional", but if you don't track your car it doesn't matter, it's just flair.

Agreed, But still whats the main purpose of a carbon fiber hood, not what is the reason people have them on there car.

I got the hood because I only had to pay the difference between what the insurance company gave me for the factory replacement and the $720 I paid for the carbon fiber hood. I wasn't sure if I would like it. Just wanted a change and so far I like it. There is a fine line between good taste and rice. It's all based on personal preference. This hood saved VERY little if any weight. The factory Infiniti hood is made of aluminum so this was mostly for style and venting hot air from under the hood.

On a side note: There was some miscommunication and the hood didn't get painted/masked as I hoped it would. Tim's Custom offered to repaint it, but I think it looks good as it is. I spent 4 hours today talking with Tim as we put my car back together. I wanted to match the front grill material so we had to wait for STILLEN to ship out the mesh for the lower bumper opening. Tim took the extra time to make sure I was happy with the outcome. I'm sure I will be back there to get my front end touched up from time to time after all the rock chips...
