not the main reason. main reason is due to the inability to see/read the plate while driving down the road. there are alot of cars that have a windshield that is angled to where you cannot read the tag if it is jammed between the dash and windshield.

yes, the 2 tag law is gay, but it is the law, and if you dont want to be pulled every other day, i highly advise getting a front tag bracket.

Its also the most reflective surface on your car. So radar and laser will bounce off of it more accuratly. That is not to say that it isnt perfect when you don't have a liscense plate...cuz its just as good. But having that front lisncese plate on there is a sure bet that the radar will get you. Its probably not the "main" reason why this law was invoked, however it sure does help catch speeders.

But yeah, i got pulled by not having my front liscense plate on the my front bumper, but i did have it on my front windshield. Didn't get a ticket for it...but i was pulled for it non the less. Personally...i would rather not rock a front liscnse plate than put on in your front windshield. It's just as illegal and cops will notice it more if you have it up there.

Your better off not having a front plate at all than sticking it in the window like a sore thumb.

Ive never used a frontplate, never will.

At least if you have none at all (carry it w/you of course), then they'll think your not from VA

I carry mine in the rear footwell and put it on the dash when I pull onto the shipyard.

Never hassled by the cops, but if I were to get hassled I'd just explain that my car didn't come with a front bracket and hopefully they'd let me slide by telling me to fix it.

you've been lucky! if you get pulled, tell them the bracket is still on order from the dealership. there are universal brackets that can be used, but most of the time unless you have been caught before, the bracket comment (and being courteous) helps.

Well I would be screwed because there are 2 holes in my front bumber showing that there has been a plate bracket there in the past.

I could cover those holes but that would be stupid to only end up having to retap them when i got pulled.

dude if your in the military just register your car in your home state and dont put your front tags on from that state. my cars are register in ohio (2 plate state) but they dont know that here in va, so i just run the back plate. if i go to ohio, i put my front plate in the window.

I'd love to and I've done that exact thing in the past.....unfortunatly if I'm licenced in Missouri, I still have to pay my personal property taxes of $300 plus so the question is....is it worth $300 a year to run without a front plate? Nope, not in my opinion anyway.

I zip tie my front plate in front of my radiator behind my frontbumper. I haven't had a problem with that location (knock on wood) in a long long time.....
