i hate va cops
Actually I dont anymore. Im all out of the import scene, dont have a bike anymore, drive an SUV and usually if I go somewhere my 18 mo. son is in the car with me. Im only 23 and have my whole life ahead if me to get where I need to go.Ill admit I used to, but after paying tickets and higher ins. its just not worth it.

Quoting its the law and hes doing his job is a bs saying.. the cop could have been a dick... we dont know.. but laws are there to protect harm from others... thats the theory anyways. so if in theory if they want to do 130 down the highway with no one around there shouldnt be a problem. Yeah i know ppl are going to jump all over this. ppl want to control everyone elses actions. we all do something that someone else doesnt like or is not illegal. and as long as no one applies the rules to you, you'll keep on quoting "hes just doing this job." lets all focus on not harming others and improving ourselves and let ppl have some fun in life
Do as the guy mentioned above, go to driving school. Its a Saturday morning and early afternoon and you get +5 points. You can only take it once every two years, so get it out of the way now and bump your points.
Then if you get a hella ticket (like 120 in a 55), you've got some room to play with and can take the course again to get back some points.

a couple of replies back somebody said you all speed and that is the truth.... you all have something to say but are just as guilty as me. i said the cop was a dick cause when he gave me and my buddy the ticket he was like " i believe u didn't know the speed limit cause you could see me for a while but u never hit your brakes but i have to give you a ticket". he didn't have to give me a ticket. its all about the quota.

any time i get pulled i think to myself "you knew the speed limit, you chose to speed, now take your punishment", and my attitude is the same when i go to court, sometimes i get off, sometimes i don't, but the entire time i know its my own doing, not the cops
i think we need speed limits and we need cops, that doesn't mean i don't speed, and that doesn't mean i think anyone that speeds is an idiot, but if you know the law and you break it, just deal with it, if i get busted i just blaim myself, i'm an adult and i know better
if your not mature enough to accept blaim for a cop doing his job, your probably not mature enough to be riding a motorcycle in the first place, and if you think you have the right to go any speed you choose then that goes double... like i said don't confuse this as me saying i don't go ridiculously above the speed limit on the road, the difference is when i do, i know i'm wrong and wouldn't be suprised to get pulled
sayings its about the quota is the biggest pile of bs in the history of motorized vehicles, its such a cop out... one day you might actually meet a dick head cop and realize you had no reason to bitch about this one, it sounds like a perfectly normal story of someone getting pulled over so i don't see why you felt you had to post about it

just look at it this way, he's out for your safety too as well as others. they wouldn't post a 35mph speed limit for no reason..

so if you are breaking the law then i have to question what you are saying. if you are speeding and breaking the law than you to some degree must think the law is not correct. for if you believed that the law was good and just then you wouldnt break it. its not about being super mature here. also lets not try to be insulting with the "not mature enough to ride a motorcycle" being mature doesnt have anything to do with following laws or riding. you could be with in the law and ride well and still not be mature. its also not about taking responsibility for your actions. what is right and what is legal do not have to be the same. it could be legal to do something that is completely wrong to do to another human being. as for quotas.. each dept is differnt. i personally know hampton has one. but i do agree with you that one day any one of us could run into a really bad cop, and really wish we havent. and just because you handle yourself a certian way doesnt mean thats the correct way either. everyone needs to realize that everyone has different views. do we need police, yes. do we need them to the degree that they are currently. that could be argued. could laws be worse, yup, but they could be better. do we need to take the fun out of life so everyone stops bitching about the actions of others.. maybe... maybe not..
