That's cuz' you're only four foot tall.....
Superbike magazine bike of the year for 2005: 05 CBR600RR
Sport Rider just picked it as the best of the 600's.
Depends on what mag you read fellas.......everyone has a favorite. What midrange the Honda was lacking has been upped for 2005 and the weight was dropped.........still handles the best overall. I like them ALL.....just like the Honda a little better.
Now for a fun ride, try a Ducati Monster.....awesome ride.

Re: Looking to buy a new bike
personally i'm not big on underseat exhausts, especially for street riding, so the R6 and GSX-R would be the only choice for me... the updates to the 600rr for 2005 are nice, but if you can get a much better deal on a left over 2004 i'd take that, radial brakes and usd forks aren't going to make any difference to anyone but top level racers, if the price is the same i'd obviously opt for the 2005 spec
i've ridden the 03-04 R6 and own the 04 GSX-R 600, if i wasn't working at suzuki i'd be very stuck on which one to choose, but probably ultimately go with the suzuki, the R6's seem to be having an expensive problem with the ignition coils that yamaha isn't acknowledging, could have been fixed for 05 i don't know, but i always hear yamaha horror stories of tranny's going, batteries exploding, and ignition coils going, but the suzuki 600 i'm not aware of anyone having any common problems at all

I have read good things about Cycle world and a couple other places but where is the best place, not just to purchase but to service the bike also. The 600 goes for 8600-9000. I know IM not gonna be paying that exact amount but I also don't want to pay 10,500 for just the bike. IM just looking for some information. Thanks for anyone who can give me an idea of what IM looking at.

Since this will be your first sportbike, I say, don't really place your decision on the minuscule power and performance advantage that either one bike or another bike has over each other. Chances are by the time you can take full advantage of the all the power the bike has than there will be better bikes available or you can go to the next class up.
Rather base your decision on reliability, technology and what appeals to you more.
As far as what dealership to go to, check out Honda of Norfolk, I think you can see them off of the eastbound lane on I-64 near Tidewater Dr. I can't remember if that is off of Old Naval Rd or off of Talbot (?Rd) And Tidewater Rd near the railroad tracks. Or you can ask Del sol to to see what they have.
CycleWorld....eh, dont accept a high price for a bike, if you dont know how much it is, than they will see that you dont know shit and charge you more.
Good Luck and ride safe.
