Re: Accident
Thanks everyone for the concern. I know I shouldn't have been doing that kind of speed; I had a lot on my mind that morning. Anyways, like I said, as soon as I find out about the status on the bike, I'll let y'all know. I don't think I will be riding anymore, this is the second motorcycle accident for me and I don't want to see how lucky I am, so this is it for me. Thanks again everyone for the kind (and not so kind!) words. Take care everyone and ride safe!

Re: Accident
I've been through a few accidents and have learned from each mistake. The mistakes I made were not paying attention to what was on the road(went sliding in oil) and riding while fatigued(rear ended an Expedition). What I learned was not to ride while tired or stressed and always pay attention to your environment.
Other accidents were while learning. Like purposely riding through sugar sand and tight maneuvering while in a parking lot. I've dropped a few bikes while doing that stuff. I made sure I was in a controlled environment while practiing though.
My suggestion is to get a bike that doesn't ask for more and just take it slow. Get a cruiser for when you want to go riding around the area and have the sports bike for track use only. When you do decide to feel squirrelly, inspect the road first to see what debris you might end up running across and to push the bike to it's limits on the road either. The bike might be able to handle it but if you don't leave any room for error, you end up with the result you experienced this weekend.

Re: Accident
Oh, I had full coverage. Right now I am in the process of getting everything claimed (i.e. helmet, jacket, gloves, etc.). It is so hard to get through all of the red tape of insurance policies and stipulations, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I didn't have full coverage for nothing!
