2006 Eclipse
probably because they weigh a smidge less than a herd of pregnant rhinos.
Curb weight(MT/ST): 3472/3538
and I think that is without the 10"inch sub in the rear.
Now add a driver and well, they are fucking heavy.
I didn't get to open up the one I test drove, but from what I am hearing they really start screaming around 3500-4000 rpms
haven't see a dyno graph yet.
I don't know if that would cause the discrepancy you are noticing.

Anyone seen the commericials for it yet? I think they should bring back the '03 Eclipse bitch with the weird arm dancing for shits & giggles.

Once again, way to be on the ball.
I'll be honest with you, I don't know, much like yourself and was only make an educated guess. Maybe the first two gears inside the transmission are really high that doesn't allow for very decent acceleration until you get to third (and possibly) fourth gear that finally allows the car to speed up to a 100+ mile an hour trap, however, after the fact that the car has been dragging its feet for the first 1/8 or so. Kinda like the exact opposite of a AWD car at the drag strip. It could also have a horrid torque/horsepower curve. I don't know, they didn't teach us this in Redneck High School.
