Is it like standing around watching people drift? Are there races or just people drifting for fun? Prizes for placing? Sorry but I'm new to this event.

Yes there are places you can watch PART of the track from
Yes you can RIDE with a GRIP or DRIFT car if you are CREW
NO there are not prizes
No there is no PLACING
Basically its a test and tune session, go out .... beat up on your car, have a blast. You can go out run however many laps you want, come in, go back out 2 mins later if youd like. You share the track with Grip and Drift guys.
