totally didn't realize you were talking about RD anymore lulz, i thought you were talking about the MKIV vw's i just posted.
anyways, i don't like them because they are shitty built cars, body panels don't line up, stupid zip tie stiching, vinyl wrapped car that they didnt' take but 20 minutes to do, drifting is the only motor sport where its okay to crash your shit, and keep driving it around with a shitty fixing they try and do. sometimes i think they crash or break shit on purpose to look cool.
*insert me breaking oil pans comment here *
not to mention their cars are ugg. even when they were "fixed" and done right. except one, the brown S13 with the cream engine bay. thats it.

i hardly call drifting "tracking" their car. its a dumb motorsport IMO, how come this is okay for a drifter to do this, but if someone say, spec e30 class car crashes, they fix it, and they get new panels and do it the way its supposed to be. not try and bend the shit back out with a hammer, throw some zip ties on their shit and call it a day. and if i wanted to track the jetta i could.
i know this comment with catch me some shit, but i don't give a fuck
Drifting is really fucking stupid.

only problem is you speak on only what you know as do most others. Im pretty sure hot rods, low riders, etc... etc... have been doing crazy everything long before volkswagens. Just european volkswagen people use there volkswagens as their everything so they copy our style of everything else and put it into a volkswagen. then it just goes down the line back to the american volkswagen people who dont even realize that the style they are doing was right in front of their face.

personally i like drifting, i also think hard parking at car shows is dumb
but you just compared sponsored spec cars to drifters
obviously they have moeny to just throw around, not all drifters do

but i was talking about import scene cars mainly
i'm going to use an example here, i don't believe axelerate is sponsored by anyone, he had a crash at the track, and bought all new panels and fixed his car properly. i believe because they won't let him compete if it isn't inspected and everything checks out?
maybe drifting they don't really have that? idfk, but if you go off the track, and you smack your body kit, just buy whatever you broke, i don't think a sideskirt, or a rear bumper is really that expensive?
just speaking on a generalization here.
