Dope Status!!
Reshaping fenders to accept larger tires is not a "radiused" fender.
Raising the wheel arch, is specifically what a radiused fender is. There seems to be a lot of confusion/misuse of this term lately. It has nothing to with flares or wider tires/wider wheels/low offsets etc.

can't imagine his influence for this one:

I plundered most of his coolest renderings, but here's the link:

I didn't say that reshaping a fender to accept larger tires was the definition. That may have been included in the link I posted, but my definition was not that narrow. I said reshaping a fender. I should have gone further, apparently, and indicated that it means to make the arch more round. Usually it is to raise the arch, but -most literally- it is changing the radius of arch, which creates a broader, taller opening. I did indicate my belief that clearing big tires was the reason it was done on the posted race cars. the wheel arch on those cars was raised, but it was also widened.
Just sayin.
Anyway, whatever.. the point is people are throwing around that term because it was posted on "stanceNation" or "Inserttrendybloghere" and really have no idea wtf it is or what it involves. The definition is actually quite narrow, there is really nothing broad about it. It's a simple concept, but a complicated execution.
While it's true American Hot Rodders have been using the technique for years, it has gone largely unnoticed or at the very least people don't really realize what it is they are looking at. Which, for all intents and purposes is the point of doing it.
