2 charged with running motorcycle chop shop in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS – Two men are charged with running a chop shop for stolen motorcycles in Newport News and police say they could be behind recent thefts in Hampton and Va. Beach.
Brad Morningstar and Kevin Reeves, both of Newport News, face multiple counts of grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
Police say they recovered six stolen motorcycles, two partial motorcycles and two trucks filled with parts that have a street value of $100,000.
All the bikes are Suzuki 600 GSRs, which are commonly used for trick riding.
Police believe they’ve been chopping bikes since September and selling the parts on the Internet.
Morningstar is due in court on September 4; Reeves has a court appearance on August 19, according to the online courts Website.
