You missed the point, he was saying that 4500 wasn't alot in the cotext of today when he is correct today 4500 isn't much at all but it WAS a lot back in the early 70's late 60's I did a calculation based on inflation for 4500 today and how much it was in 1974 (28-29 years) and was actually surprised at how much it was, I knew it would be a big difference but I didn't expect 4-5x the amount now...

So daddy bought you 2 cars (effectively) I was offered at one point assistanc on buying a car but with my parents it was going to be more a car of their choice than mine so I said nope, I will save and work and buy exactly what I want thats why I didn't have my first car till about 17 or 18 when half of my friends were driving some saab or whatever that mommy and daddy bought them (and a few with f-bodies) And the dealership is not there to sell you a restored muscle car, when you buy from them you are getting what you pay for that was my point, go lookup the market value on those cars and then tell me how shitty of a deal they are.

Actually quite the opposite, I am sitting at work (as I work the night shift) and most of my job consists of sitting on a computer monitoring network communications and so I surf the web looking up info and reading various newsgroups/message boards to pass the time and could care less what you think, and I am not mad at all, as a matter of fact you are very amusing to both me and the MCI engineer sitting to my left who are both laughing at your posts!

Another thing is this. You don't know me for anything, I'm not a "spoiled brat who brags about what I have". I'm actually the complete opposite. Maybe if you would've realized you jumped to conclusions and you are trying to throw it in my face that I didn't pay for my car then I wouldn't have been so hostile. There are a lot of other people on this site that haven't paid for their cars and they cost in the upward 20 ~ 30K range.

Bragging? Since when are telling facts bragging? That post was completely relavant at the time since we were talking about bondoed older cars.

 

Bragging = To glorify oneself or ones posessions in speech.

Claiming ANY car of that era has a straighter than current model body (assuming the curren model hasn't been in a wreck etc) would definetly be considered bragging in my book. Anyone else?

To be perfectly honest with you it needs bodywork, I was just stating that it had a straight body because we were talking about cars from the same era that are full of bondo.

 

You know what you are just so right! I should definetly think about how YOU might feel or react before I post since the world does revolve around you I will definetly continue to take this into consideration before I post! And for all the people who mommy and daddy buy their cars for them I earn mine and am proud of it.
