local municipal/regional airport... should be able to stop outside the fence and take a pic with a plane in the background.

Yea, he said aircraft. Be it model plane, RC plane, or real plane. I think all of those would be acceptable.

Hint: There is a fighter jet on Oceana BLVD parked close to the fences...
