So, was gonna go for a ride with my g/f this evening. She has a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650. She pulled the choke and started it up. All good. She hops on and kills the choke and the bike dies. Does this four or five times. Checked and it has gas. No clue on could be wrong with it, she recently had the carbs done at Cycle World (read: early this year like Feb/March). Before we take it back to the shop, I'd like to see if 1) There's an easy fix, 2) Someone wants to take a look at it for cheap for us.
How long has it been since it was list ridden? This typically points at clogged pilot/slow jets. My bike was the same, started up fine and ran on the choke, turn off the choke and it dies. Cleaned the carbs and it was a happy bike again.
