That's a gonner... even if it was fixable the insurance company would most likely total it due to parts availability issues. I remember in late 2004 when the C6 has first come out a guy had his hit on the way from the dealership (he had just purchased it). A truck was sitting beside him at a light and a Neon rear ended the truck hard enough to lift the truck up, push it forward and drop the rear down on the RF corner of the C6. The car needed a bumper, light, fender, hood... that's it, nothing structural but the car was totalled because all of the parts were on backorder.

That story doesn't really add up to me. That's a ton of damage for a rear end collision, almost looks like the car was backed into a wall at a high rate of speed. I'm no body man or anything, but for an Escape to do that much damage to such a big car, he must have been hit at a super high speed.
Depending on the state, UMPD is optional covg. Either way, if his story is true, the guy that hit him is going to be sued by someone.
