Yes it is! Bearings should last almost the entire life of the engine if using stock clearences. Rod bolt failure is a common problem in high reving Ls blocks as well. In my opinion, the crank needs to be balanced in these situations. An Ls/Vtec motor can last a good amount of time if the proper precautions are taken into consideration when building the motor.
o yah -to answer question, i'd personally go staight b16 and rebuild it, but since a million people in usp run ls/vtec then i dont see why you would have a problem w/it either
yeah i think the ls/vtec would win but the motor wont last very long. i agree with opsi. all you need to do is put some nice ass set of cams in the ls and itll beat the b16 all day
