Those are LEDs. See most/all current Audi models for more details. They're used for daytime running lights (DRLs) and are very common in Europe where they are concerned with light pollution from using dimmed headlights as DRLs.

 

Flim... you get to drive a Porsche w/ PDK yet? It could very well change your opinion of flappy-paddle boxes... it's amazing. I'm a die-hard manual guy, but I'd buy a PDK 911 if I was in the market.
