Smoke due to fires in Dismal Swamp

Re: Smoke due to fires in Dismal Swamp
I just came back from FL, I was wondering what the hell happened while I was away, went through the tunnel on 264, that even had smoke in it, and it stuck heavy half way to "downtown Virginia Beach" then you could just smell it. That was about 3-4am.

There is something weird about the smoke too. I grew up out in the country and a brush fires/bonfires/leaf pile fires were just a way of life and I'm very used to the smoke caused by them, but this smoke is very irritating. Just a couple minutes exposure and my eyes were burning. Anyone else notice this?

Re: Smoke due to fires in Dismal Swamp
We've been getting smoke from the NC peat bog fires while at the OBX this week. Different fire than the Dismal Swamp fire? Luckily the wind shifted in the middle of the week so it hasn't been that bad again until today. It's really hazy here today because of that though, and smells like an old electric motor that's starting to break down.
