i would go to each of the shops before you make a set decision. If your looking for custom work talk with each of the artists, sometimes they will each specialize in different styles. You can also discuss different rates, and look through albums of their previous works.
btw, what do you want to get done?

ive been to the one in carrollton and it just doesnt look as clean as the one in yorktown - but yea, check them both out cuz it's decision that you have to make and you have to be comfortable with the place and who is doing it.

The guy who did all of my tats worked at ancient on the peninsula, but I think he moved back and forth between the two. His name was Brian, I had his card somewhere, but he did the best work on me to date. I don't know if he's still working there, but that would be my recommendation.

Toucans, ok work, but people suck. Ancient Art, really good work great people, Blue Horeshoe, too pricey don't give a damn who they are, I would go to Ancient Art, I know all the guys there, they do good work, prices vary and they're very profesional, and clean and all around cool dudes, I personally didn't get a tat from them, I have sleeves done by my boy on Brooklyn, but i know good work, I also do some tats, my friends get theirs done there it's a good place.
