Fuck a Hybrid.... they're heavy and they suck.... all the "econmy" cars from the 80s get better gas mileage than today's hybrids.

What's dumb about a hybrid? Dude wants gas mileage. The 335d was not a serious suggestion.

 

VW TDi and the Fiesta get way better mileage then the average hybrid.

 

335d is way out of the price range. Trying to spend 16K and under.

Girlfriend has a Mini cooper S and loves it. Has much more room inside that it looks and is super fun to drive. Pretty good gas mileage (i'm sure the non-supercharged model has much better) but too bad it's a girl's car.

 

Based on EPA estimates? Doubtful either car can get better mileage in stop and go traffic without regenerative braking. Fiesta is only rated 30MPG city, so stop and go will be less than that. All highway speed I don't doubt the TDI and Fiesta are equal or better IRL. Unless you work the swing shift communting NoVa to MD along the beltway burns up a lot of gas due to traffic congestion.
