As mentioned allready... it's the demographic of the people that own the car coupled with the accident trends.

Translation... stupid ricer kids getting in more wrecks and modding them up.

BTW a C5 vette is an awesome car even in base stock form.

I'd take a C5 all day long. I was going to buy one, but it was already sold.

And if you can't find a C5 get a TA. Best bet is to not get a WS6 because around here they try to rape you. Go look in autotrader. You'll find an 01 TA with 50K for ~16K then if there's a WS6 with the same mileage they want over 20K.

i still cannot decide what to do. i'm worried i may encounter more expensive problems if i get a c5. i wouldnt be able to leave it stock either. i am going to go test drive one and see what it does for me though, the only thing i dislike is i can only have 1 passenger. i wanted a supra badly but i just dont think i can swing it for only 18k. ( i dont want insanely high mileage or any problems) do you think a dealership will let a 21 year old test drive a vette, or will they look at me funny and make up some bullshit?

They will let you drive it. You can afford it so they better let you drive. How much are you trying to spend, around 20K right?

more like 17k or 18k. you may thnk that that wont get me a nice one, but i searched on autotrader and came across many many great deals at that price for a 97-98.
