Ian and I got there at 10 am last year and was asked to leave Times Square so everyone could be searched one by one and brought back in. Then you had to sit in those cells of people and couldn't leave or come back. The key to Times Square at New Years - get a room facing the ball, push the bed against the window, and party it up as you please....
You are going to have to get there at like 10 in the morning. DOnt go to time square, there is so much other stuff going on.
The fraternity brothers I am going with live in Northern New Jersey right by the commuter trains running into NYC. So I will drive up there, stay at their place and then ride the train into the city. I was already aware of the way they have security setup there and I am willing to deal with it to have a memorable time. They did New Years twice in a row already at Times Square so they know what the deal is by now I'm sure.
Once the ball drops, who knows what we are going to do in NYC.

You're going to be walking the streets of NYC with the other million lost souls, holding hands with your frat brothers so you don't lose each other, looking for the pisser and something warm to eat... Have fun up there!!! Stay warm!
