sadly it wouldnt save me any $ as my insruance would go from 95 a month to 135 a month

but saving the gas would make up for it.

I agree. Although diesel is a little more expensive right now, you'll get many many many more miles to the gallon.

Oh and Maintenance is pretty hefty if its, 20k, 40k, 60k, 100k Maintenance.

40k being 585$ thru the dealership.
You did not say 30mpg around town. Why don't you reread your post?

$340 a month for full coverage on a TDI Jetta? WTF?

I pay waaaaaaaaaaaaay less than half of that for a 1.8T GTI.. with a long record. Hell, my car payment and my insurance put together are barely what you would pay for just insurance.

Prices for Maintenance

5k-15k-25k-35k-45k ='s $77

10k-30k-50k-70k-90k ='s $166

20k-60k-100k-140k ='s $341

Fun! Fun!

Also if its a 97-00 TDI, make sure it has gotten the recall for the Fuel Distribution module on the side of the block.

that's what I was thinking..

that's not that bad at all really. spend a little bit of money and the car will last an EXTREMELY long time if you take care of it.
