Ugh...I didn't realize my car had all the problems it has until I brought it home..

- Speakers were ALL blown [ 2 door, 2 rear, and the 2 dash ]
- No headunit [ Yeah, I noticed this before I bought it ]
- Top motor doesn't work
- Only driver side main window worked
- Power Mirrors / Doorlocks didn't work
- Driveshaft was missing 3/4 of the bolts connecting it to the trannsmission
- Negative battery cable [ The smaller 1 of the two ] was showing it's copper, I went to wash my compartment and the shit sparked.
- Gas gauge doesn't work

But other than a bunch of bullshit like that, my car runs pretty mechanically sound, I don't have problems starting it, but occasionally it will die if I leave it idling for too long. RPM's will jump, drop, jump, drop, and then it will die

 

I love my car and it's not even running yet.

 

I hate my car. Everyone knows that, but here's a list of tax return fix-fund:

• Needs all new rear brakes
• Needs new brake lines ran to all four corners
• Needs the master cylinder and booster replaced
• MAF sensor is either bad, or wired incorrectly...doesn't run very well (it's real lean)
• Driver's seat broken
• no radio or speakers
• shifter is installed incorrectly (won't go into overdrive, reverse lights don't light, won't ratchet into 1st gear)
• horn doesn't work
• somehow the brakelights and the parking lights are intertwined. When I press the brake, the parking/fog lights come on.
• Top needs replacing
• power window motors worn down to a crawl
• transmission is slipping to the point of almost not shifting anymore
• need spacers for the front wheels so all four wheels will match again
• need to install the heater core and hook it back up so I have heat again
• need new carpeting thanks to the above mentioned failed heater core (now bypassed)

That's probably not everything....

 

What problems did you have? I have a 90 and its never given me any major problems at all. These cars are pretty hard to kill man....

 

I've liked all my cars, except the dodge shadow I used to own.

 

i bought one of my 240's for $20. it was automatic, leaky sunroof, sohc motor that was on the verge of blowing, half the crap didnt work, you could reach under the car and pull out interior.

and i still loved it :\

 

Oil Pan Gasket was leaking, that cured the leak. Then two weeks later, Rear Main seal blew out, Tranny was starting to go, Rear End was binging, and alot of other problems, just didn't feel like keeping it alive anymore so I butchered it.

For the crx now,

I don't really Hate it, it's just the problems it has. I mean I know it's not the car's fault it's just the owner that had it before me "Cost effectively re-engineered certain things" on it. I'll have to find pictures of the previous exhuast that was on it The hood has to be held on by hood pins and the battery dies if i dont start within every 18 hours, some where in that ball park due to unknown parasitic draw. Some other things, but I mean I'm happy its nothing MAJOR.

Merf: All those problems you listed, is that for the IROC? That's alot of problems man
