Holy blown clutchtes batman, the last time I seen something like that was on my T2 in Okinawa. The clutch basically shredded when I dropped it one night at the street races. Shredded clutch was all over inside the bell housing and everything... talk about a mess.

it has to be a hydraulic problem. if the master cylinder is good, then my next guess would be the slave cylinder. check all your lines for leaks, crimps, etc., and go ahead and replace your slave cylinder, they're only about $20 from any parts store. it's times like this where you may as well go ahead and buy that upgraded clutch (and flywheel if you have the money), it should come with a throwout bearing if you're still thinking that may be the problem.
after all this, make sure the pedal is adjusted correctly and the system is bled. you won't know if your syncro is really bad until you have everything working properly and are able to drive it normally, or you go through the transmission. like i said, i don't think it would be, it may seem like it because your clutch is not disengaging completely so it won't want to go in gear smoothly, bad syncro or not.
