I NEED OPINIONS ON OPENING A NEW BIKE SHOP:
Thanks for all the input fellas--
One thing i can't do is purchase a giant warehouse to start off with. It would be the best to have a place with a lot to play in but thats not always possible when I first start this up. I can always move to a bigger place at the end of a lease agreement.
I'll let yall know how it goes....

FWIW, put a business plan together and stick to it. And make sure you have more money in reserves than you estimate you'll need. Most new businesses run into a lot of expenses they underestimated or didn't expect, and lack of capital is the primary reason most new businesses go under in the first few years. If you're serious about doing this, and you're a research type of guy, I have a few business books you may be interested in that I'll donate to the cause. Lemme know.
I am actually seriously looking into opening my own custom shop. Ive been searching for people who are dedicated enough to follow through and be reliable. If I am going to do it, I want it done right, and not half-assed. Call me a perfectionist. I hadn't thought of opening a branch of an already established shop. But I do want couches, Flat-screen tv's, decent parking lot, a bar/grille, and possibly tattoo shop, all encorporated. In my opinion, the sky is the limit, but I need people who will be able to bring something to the table and toss around ideas and figure out what is truly feasible. opening and operating a shop is easy, you just need the connections for it to run smoothly. Id seriously like to be something somewhat of a "sister" shop to another bike place (i.e. we get lots of referrals, and take on their backed-up projects). I love the guys @ Redline. Anyways, I am interested in talking to you about what you are considering doing. let me know if you want to take it further.
I am going to jump on the I need a job bandwagon too. I worked a bicycle shop so the concepts are not completely foreign but I am also good at being a shop bitch or slut depending on how you look at it and do all the jobs nobody else wants to do, like wash the windows. Vacum. Get starbucks coffee.....not that anybody drinks that et cetera.
