I feel quite certain that if you were to look at any SUV you'll find higher roll over rates then any car.

Does this mean every auto maker has released a deadly product? I think it does.

Who knows. But since it can flip (and so can the Samurai) and Jeep and suzuki made a concious decision to produce it, doesn't that put it in the same catagory.

I think people are missing some of Dave's comments. While looking up information about the Explorer roll over issue he came across other information regaurding deathtraps such as the Pinto. Ford knew there was/would be issues with said vehicles, but green-lighted them for the sake of making money. Documentation has surfaced to prove they knew of the issues/conditions.

And I'm not refuting that....I'm just saying other automakers have done the same.

No I can't, but mainly because I don't have the desire to look. But I should probably sue Honda because my passenger side seat belt doesn't work anymore.

Really? Then explain to me how the tires just spontaneously blew up. Once the Firestones were replaced, the tires quit rupturing on the car. And how is Firestone now stonger than ever? Anyone I've ever spoke with wouldn't trust a Firestone product any further than they could throw it because of their reputation.

Not Ferrari

Can you find any other manufacturer that makes the decision to go ahead with a product when proof is shown that a minor redesign will save many many lives?

And what of the Pinto? It never rolled over. It just exploded. Ford knew it would explode before the first one rolled off the line. But they decided that settling wrongful death lawsuits out of court would be cheaper than spending ~50 cents per Pinto to fix it before anyone died. The fact that that plan blew up in their face () makes it pretty puzzling that they did almost the same exact thing at least two more times.

Here's some info

Make sure to look at the 2nd paragraph
http://www.rolloverlawyer.com/suzuki_samurai.htm

Here's a good one...GMC building a truck rather then spending $8 to fix a problem
http://consumerlawpage.com/article/gastank4.9bil.shtml

It's not that I think that Ford wasn't wrong. It's just he's trying to protray Ford as teh "Evil Empire" when other auto makers have done the same shit.
