the 86 is a hard car to drift at first. low power and funky 4 link rear. but...........once you master it, no one can touch you why else do they win so many D1 competitions. as for the FC's they do have better weight distibution, but who wants a finicky rotary when a 250K 4ag wil still rev to the limit all day long. I can slide as far and as fast as most 240's and FC's with half the power. 86 ownz j00
heyy guys...i've been reading this thread and well...if you really want the swap, go to Venus-Auto.com they'll have what u need, and whatever else u need they can get it...just thought i'd throw that in there...they sell full front clips / motor sets...for one thing, they sell the later 4AGE (20valve w/ VVT-i) for $600 (motor, tranny, ecu...but you'll have to find a rear diff or you'll just be doing one wheel burnouts all day) for those of you who don't know what the 20valve is, the 4AGE is a high compression engine from the AE92 and AE101, it makes 160hp out of 1.6L (hello civic Si) i would prefer this engine over the 4AGZE...the power's a lot more tractable and predictable than the supercharged engines...just my 2c

"but it worked for takumi in initial D yo!"
They aren't as easy as you think to find in the US or in Japan, they are 20 year old cars. That's why the price of them is rising cause decent parts are scarce and hard to come by, therefore = not cheap. Even front clips are getting harder to come by. S13's and S14's are alot more common, in better condition, and are at worst only 14 years old. If they were so cheap and easy to come by everyone would drive one. It may not be the "god of drifting" car you are looking for, but if you can keep up with the other turbo cars in a n/a engine that barely pushes 116 hp than it must say something for the car. Besides why get a car eveyone else has when you can own a rare one, lord knows I see alot more of the S13's and S14's on the road.
20v is not all that its cracked up to be, and it also never came in a ae92. try finding anything for it at autozone. not happening. not to mention the fun you'll have runnign it with the factory japanese ECU with fuel maps designed to run on 100 octane. you're better off with a standalone. just get a GZ its a much easier swap and you can get parts all day long. just think, big cusco pulley, front mount IC and boost from idle mmmmmmmm.........20v = too much trouble......or learn how to drive and keep the blue top. too much power and not enough skill and you're just another civic driver....peace
