a lexus is a toyota. the ls is a toyota celsior. and i would rather have a lexus or a toyota over a bmw due to the greater reliability and lower cost of parts for the toyotas.

 

Actually the toyota celsior has been discontinued Lexus has been on sale for over a year in japan which means now you can buy a Lexus in any country. You cant do that with other Japanese luxury brands.

 

The Lexus LS460 is the only car you can buy with the self parking feature. It debuted in te prius in 2003 and now is available in a Lexus. The BMW system is on a concept car not a production option. And the new LS has many other worlds first.

1. Eight speed auto transmission.
2.Rear pre collision system.
3.World-first Driver Monitoring System, initiates safety warnings and pre-crash systems if a collision risk is detected when the driver is not looking at the road ahead
4.Advanced Obstacle Detection System can pick wide range of obstacles on the road ahead, including pedestrians, in day and night-time driving

False. Get the fuck out. I was discussing this with some of my toyota/lexus tech friends the other day. Basically, same car... different badges.... and a few extra goodies for the lex just so they can justify selling 2 of the same cars with a $25,000 difference in the price tag.

 

Oh... and just for the record...... I like Lexus... I just think MSMLexIS needs to re-think what he posted earlier about parts sharing.

Still doesn't change the fact that Toyota stole a bunch of styling cues from the 7-Series for their new LS.

BMW > Lexus.

 

My Lexus shares its engine with the supra and thats the only thing it shares. However if you check your history the 2JZ debuted in a Lexus not a toyota. Like i said very few parts are shared. And unlike acura and infiniti there are very different driving experiences.
