New to vadriven
Hello everyone, I am new to the site and actually new to the import world. I have spent the most part of my car years playing around with old small blocks and working on camaros but as everyone knows the fuel prices are not chevy friendly so i had to turn to a more economical solution and get a honda. I am not upset, just more confused with the differences under the hood and the complex world of motor swaps with you need these mounts, this trans, this head, and all that. I am learning as I go but am always up for any tech help I can get, so hopefully this site will benefit in more ways than one, as soon as I can actually post classifieds and get the parts listed that I need. Thanks everyone.
What do you drive? I'm located in Portsmouth aswell and wouldn't mind helping you out under the hood.
I got the swap in the car this week. I put in a D15B, vtec with 5 spd trans. I got everything in all and well but it is idling around 3K and with the JDM motor I am having a hell of a time figuring out what is up with it. Since the D16Y7 does not have the knock sensor and the vtec, I pinned the ECU for both, there was only one wire for the vtec and one for the knock but got them done. Still trying to figure it out.
Well somewhat have it figured out, not perfect yet but getting better every day with the research I have been doing.
Heres a pic of the new motor. JDM D15B Vtec. It seems a bit sluggish right now but it will improve once I get it tuned in. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Hope to stick around for a while, seems like a great site.
I think it's very impressive your taking a big step to do all the work yourself.
I appreciate the offer for me to come over, I've been very busy. The site is great, just don't take anything to heart untill you learn to meet the people.
I've never seen you around though
