Its a public board, I'm completely free to make any comments that I want. You're taking up space on this board to post that you are too ignorant to tune your own car and require someone to for some reason rush to your rescue and tune your car for you, and yet you have the issue with me posting that it sounds rediculous.

Ive been way too busy with school to really make many posts, let alone mess with my own car. Thanks for the kind words, it actually can be better than it is, I just havent had time to tweak things optimally, and also I am currently experiencing a surge issue on a turbo that should be unsurgable. My goal was to get the spool time as low as possible while maintaining 450awhp, and I think I've met my goals nicely. Guess we'll see in the next week or so when I plan to return to the dyno.

Tuning your own car isn't for everyone. It takes a lot of researching and a good bit of experience to really understand and properly tune a car on anything more complicated than an afc. Sure you can slap in a basemap, get the afr's somewhat optimal at WOT, but its not necessarily gonna be a smooth running car and that base timing map your using isn't necessarily going to be safe or anywhere near optimal. Not to mention researching and learning the software along with tuning a car for the first time can take a good bit of time and many people are too busy to do all of that. Also tuning the program crome that he uses requires that you buy a number of things for tuning.

1. you need a chip burner for sure
2. you will need a datalogging cable(it can be done without this, but it isn't easy or efficient to get a good tune this way.
3. you will need to purchase crome pro($150) just to datalog through crome...you can datalog with other free programs, but its so much easier just to log through one program.
4. you will need a real time programmer if you want to be able to update maps without having to burn a chip everytime. Trust me i've tuned without this before and it really does suck.

If you have the time, money, and patience to tune your own car then thats good, but many people dont have that.

from what it looks like, he cant figure out the mapping, and is having issues with fueling. i dont know this system, but it appears to me that since he is getting shit emailed, it must be a file (unless there is some way to email hardware, i dont think that is quite capable yet)

so, it makes sense to most that are viewing this thread that the original poster has no clue on how to make a fuel map work, basically meaning that he should probly not be attempting to do what he is trying to do without some form of help, which probably should have been done in the first place.

cliff notes: if you dont know what you are doing, dont fucking do it.

i dont even understand why he's even so in a hurry to tune it. five bucks says it will be blown up in a few weeks anyway.

i think what chris is trying to say is that if you dont know how to do something, DONT FUCKING DO IT! at least thats what i inferred

yes, he is a know it all. if i knew half the shit he knows about what makes some tunes work and others not i would say the same thing (ok.....i still would have anyway, cause i'm a dick like that) i would take some words of wisdom hoss, cause he is saying it nicely. i dont see any ignorance in his reply. you, however, seem to be swinging on someones nuts to be so damn defensive of one of your "team members"

there are no words of wisdom hoss, this thread was specifically made for help for a tune, not a "i'm smarter than you are contest"....and obviously if you don't see any ignorance , then i guess your just as ignorant .now isn't that bliss....and talk about the defensive side, you just wrote a short novel defending your boy.....and yes i like to swing from his nuts...

I don't see a single comment that came out of my mouth about me being a superior engine tuner, I simply said that this thread is a worthless POS and its exactly what makes this board shitty. I honestly don't see why you find it important to defend him. Learning to do shit yourself is definately words of wisdom bud, stop trying to defend him and take a step back and realize how worthless of a thread this is. It doesn't take a mod to realize that

I have to agree it comes off as an arrogant comment. What would you do if you were to go to a professional, say a doctor, asking why your stomach hurts. What if they simply said "quick asking dumbass questions, research the problem yourself so you dont keep asking us doctors whats the matter..". Sure all analogies are not perfect, but it just seems like you (maybe a proffessional?) need to chill and understand at one point in your life you didnt know shit about this stuff either...you had to learn it somehow didnt you?

And yes, some forums are comprised of really dumbass posts and questions, but I would say a question/help like this is not stupid and doesnt clutter up the boards. You're just stirring the pot and making things worse.
