Anyone want to go mountain biking?
Probably around 10 or so. I am looking to probably ride about an 60-90 minutes or so. I am coming off of a really bad cold/asthma attack over the past few weeks, so I am not in peak riding condition. I did about 8 miles of this trail on Tuesday and it was a blast, WAY better than Ipswich. I will never ride ipswich again now that I know this trail is available.
I never feel safe at Ipswich, too many little kids back there, breaking bottles, riding dirtbikes, and shooting paintball guns. I am always afraid I am going to fall in glass, or get shot at.

I will be riding Sunday morning at Gatewood. It is much closer to Southside than any of the Williamsburg trails, I just found out how good this trail was on Tuesday of this week.
Total trail length is close to 14 miles long. Difficulty wise this trail is way harder than Ipswich and Harwood Mills, but easier than New Quarter, or Freedom Park.
Park is right on Warwick Blvd at Lake Maury.

Riding there has been restricted in the past. But the evma has loose permission to build trails there. No one has been ticketed in years. The trail was closed in the early 2000's because of rogue builders who made unsafe obstacles and caused some people to get hurt. Right now, we have permission to ride, and maintain the trails. There is a lot of great stuff back there right now, and as long as no one is stupid it will become a sanctioned trail.

I was there around 11 today. Didnt see anyone else really. I only got to ride about 1 mile before my freehub in my rear wheel broke. It has been going south for a few months now, and I have been putting off replacing it. Trying to climb up a hill while your pedals are slipping 50% of the rotation is very hard to say the least.
