..advance use to be able to read CEL codes.
if it's not a CEL and it's a serivce light, it could be some bs like belts/oil change or something dumb like that.. the newer cars have lights that come on after like 30k miles for you to go in and get stuff done.. my moms 2003 chevy has a 'serivce' light that comes on every 3k miles to get and it's only for the oil change, you use the cars radio to clear the light. not sure on your car tho, either way, good luck!

no, they dont have a service light that comes on at set intervals that high, the only ones out any more are for the oil changes that most retarded people cant think to remember to have done.
not always. if its a body issue, there is a possibility that it will be taken care of by a dealer that is more lax than others. however, with GM's current financial status, they will do anything and everything to decline a warranty claim. what i dont get is why they would turn down CP work.
service light is simple on that unit, but alot of manuals dont show how to reset them anymore.
Being as there are a few TSB's out for Class II data com. failures with several more reflashes for them, i highly doubt it.
