JDM influence like a mofo. everything has been done already over there and has been improved upon 10x over. The american import scene is LATE FOLKS. We are just playing catchup at this point and you bastardize what it truely is by saying you are not apart of it. You say you hate it..and yet you use its essence in every mod you put on your car. If you hate it so much then get the fuck off dragva and start your own hippy shit.

Well spoken
Getting real JDM parts is as close as some of us are going to be to getting one off / custom parts. If you buy something that hardly anyone else has it's original to a certain degree.
Yes, at some point if it becomes a trend that won't hold true, but even then you have to think how many people have whatever car you drive. Then how many of those people have whatever JDM part you got? Probably not very many.
I think that's what appeals to most people. Easy access to making your car stand out from the crowd.

here goes my 2 cents. I'm out here in Japan and I can tell you that what everyone back in the states says is JDM, is not even close to what they have out here.
I got a quick question going along this JDM stuff. What exactly makes a part JDM, just the fact that it was made out here in japan?

I was curious to know what exactly makes a car, Honda Civic hatchbacks in particular, "JDM"? Is their a reason that everyone is going for the "JDM" style? Is everyone that is involved with the so called scene around here just a bunch of sheep that do what the magazines say is the thing to do? Just some questions that I was curious to know the answer to. Sorry if I step on some toes, but oh fucking well.

JDM didnt really come into the import seen just 1 year or 2 ago, its just now became known(popular/trendy), thats why companies have been replicating it.
I'm into JDM, staying with the "old skool" as sum may call it, or the original style Honda's protrayed. JDM, referred to as Japanese Domestic Market, is just another style. In this style, we strive to keep Honda's lookin stock with their sleek bodylines that the Research and Development Team at Honda worked numerous hours and countless dollars to develop. In an attempt to stay away from the all too common supra taillights and "wild" wings in today's scene, we utilize parts imported directly from Japan. And with OEM parts, that arent available in the U.S. our Honda's make a definite statement of power.
I think you guys are blowing up something that certainly doesnt need to be blown up, ie: wing issue, its want people want, they want to be different, kits are cool fine whatever, but its the same principle as somebody putting a vintage dash from an old mustang in a newer mustang, something to make it unique... and maybe they like that styling better? i say stfu and enjoy your own thing, stop worrying abotu what other people are doing...

i'll be more than happy to jump aboard har har!
