"Click" sound and my car won't start...

Thats weird, the only time I ever saw that car smoke was when VTEC engaged. When are you seeing the black smoke?

VTEC. It's like a "puff" of black smoke. It's not constant. I also have some residue on my rear bumper.

If your car is white... we call that vtec juice. I had it on the back of my car... but then again I had a snail and a vtec motor.

Yeah. It's white. I just want to fix that damn "starter" thing. I need to get it tuned. Any recommendations?

I've got the same residue, its typical.

OK but about the ignition timing? Could that be an issue?

Open it up and replace the starter contacts. If the 'contact' portion of the plunger is thin, replace that too.
