I actually think they are finally getting a grip on how bad our roadways really are. Especially the Istate. I have noticed how much better and smoother the road is around the Williamsburg area.
You have to keep in mind, they break up sections of the concrete, repour, and then smooth down all of the sections at a later time.
I am much happier with concrete interstates than asphalt, think about all of the shitty repair jobs with asphalt and how quickly pot holes are created. Granted, Virginia had a shitty company repairing the concrete and that is why a lot of it is being torn up now. So I give them another year and our interstate on the peninsula will be a shit ton better.

It could have been something that required them to work during the day. From my understanding they are "supposed" to work 8pm until 5am but I dont know if that is just a myth.

Just for your info, VA is ranked 2nd or 3rd in the country for roadways. As far as the concrete in the roads, you think you are complaining now, let them put asphalt in its place. They will be replacing it every 6 months. The concrete is used for high traffic areas for the big rigs cause the rigs leave indentions in the asphalt because of their weight, so if you want to gripe, you should do it to the 18 wheeler companies, and tell the to take their trucks off the road, which is a battle you will lose. Just my 2 cents.

Do some research before you get all excited, i work with vdot on a daily basis, so i know what goes underneath of the roads, and what goes into the asphalt and concrete,and what spec the material has to be in.

i wasn't doubting you, i was doubting the poll. I am just highly disappointed about the way things are ran around here. When compared to other states, i think VDOT has a lot to learn. Ever driven in NC? I-40 is a fucking blast to drive on. I have yet to find a horrible road in the RTP area.

Yeah i feel you, there are a bunch of roads up here that are rediculous. They are just getting to fixing them, but just give them some time, they are slow but they do try to fix them.
