talk to people, keep your eyes open, look around alot, that sort of thing.
there's LOTS of people with old bikes collecting dust in the back corners of sheds and whatnot. decide what you want, put the word out in the right places, and you'll be surprised what you can come up with. alot of people consider bikes like that junk, but for other people (like me ) it's just a fresh starting point... on the cheap

There's a old Honda 500 Turbo up here for sale...I'm afraid to ask how much he wants for it though....looks to be in decent shape for a 20+ year old bike.

yuck, cx500 turbo's are NOT fun bikes. parts are hard to come by, and it wasn't a good design in the first place. if it was $100 or so, then maybe, just for something different, but i wouldn't pay more than that for one of them.
