Single cam turbo questions.
I used to have a 98 EK and went through 5 motors before I perfected the tune.(t3t04)Turbonetics Turbo, Rev hard manifold, Tial WG @10-16psi Depends on what mood I was in.
I STILL went throgh 4 More because of 5th gear boost. Shit catching on fire under the hood, after I send 2 rods through the block and one into the oil pan. Its going to happen regardless, unless its LOW compression. BTW The best SOHC setup I did was the Y8 bottom end and the Y7 head. 16psi For a good 9 months till I got stupid one Night... also did 13.20 w/ street tires@16psi.

That turbo was tiny Levi. That ish spooled up and blew off in first without even getting on it.
I'll chime in with my single-t setup. Stock y7 with 9 psi making 190.=)
Anyway, not to hijack the thread but when you comin back down here?

I'll be back next Friday, in which I will be in my buddies garage ripping his LS head off his DA. Will be getting a new headgasket, and making sure he didn't fuck anything up when he snapped his timing belt.
So next Friday...the 12th, and then the following Thursday the 18th. Both times through the weekend. Hit me up haha.
I run 15psi with a t04e 57 trim on my stock motor no problem and i've been running 15psi from my old smaller vf39 for some time. With the right tune you can go above 9psi. Why not just go with a stock z6 block so your compression is 9.2:1? The higher compression doesn't have anything to do with the reliability of the motor. It has to do with how much power your are limited to with the octane gas that is available to you. If you can get it down to low 9's then you can run plenty of power on 93 octane.

nice.
nope. it will detonate, to much cylinder pressure when dynamic.
why not find a A6 block? close enough to the same block, just add the z6 oil pump to the a6 block.
also you should not boost a d16 engine with a bigger then 75.5 bore (with stock sleeves), cylinder pressures will crack the sleeves very quickly.
BTW: i picked up a stock z6 for $200 back in june.
